Statement about the Egyptian People’s Victory

After the brave Egyptian people imposed their will, by virtue of their great sacrifices, and vanquished the tyrannical regime overcoming thus the most challenging internal and foreign obstacles, ADF conveys the following:
Feelings of pride for belonging to a great nation, a nation of determination and dignity that does not stand for injustice and tyranny. A nation that can make its way through towards a future characterized by freedom, development, and progress.
Its warmest congratulations to every citizen in Egypt and all around the Arab world for this historical achievement, which will be a milestone not only in the Arab region, but all over the world.
The transfer of power to the Egyptian Military Council is a first step that must be immediately followed upon by instigating a genuine and civil democratic transition. The latter is to incarnate the power of the people, convey their ambitions, respond to their desire for freedom and departure from tyranny, and work towards provision of all aspects of decent standards of living and prosperity for Egypt.
Its conviction that the Egyptian society forces will remain alert and continue their revolution until the goal of reaching an effective full-fledged democratic system has been achieved.
The democratic transition in Egypt will bring it back to the region to play its leadership role of winning back the nation’s usurped rights and the achievement of its legitimate national demands.
Long live the Egyptian revolution, long live Egypt… The people’s will can never be defeated…
