On the Situation in Libya
Doha, 21February 2011
The Arab Democracy Foundation stays up to date with the heroic uprising of the Libyan people and the savage offensive of the forces of the Libyan regime and its mercenaries. In this context, the Arab Democracy Foundation conveys the following:
1- Its full backing and unconditional support of the Libyan people, the revolt, and its legitimate demands.
2- Its condemnation, in the strongest possible manner, of the heinous crimes committed by the Libyan regime forces which have reached an unprecedented level of use of military force against civilians. These are crimes against humanity and the people in charge, as well as the people who carried out their orders, must be put on trial.
3- The Libyan regime must accept the will of its people for the government to abandon power and bring an end to the bloodshed.
4- Its call upon the world’s governments and democratic units to show strong, instant, and tangible solidarity with the Libyan people.
5- Asserts its faith that the Libyan people will regain their liberty and realize their demands for democracy, development, and progress. The people of Libya will follow in the path of their Tunisian and Egyptian brethren in the process of democratic emancipation in the Arab world.
And that the people’s will can never be defeated…
