ADF Strongly Condemns the Assassination of Al-Jazeera’s Photographer Ali Hassan Al-Jaber
The Arab Democracy Foundation learnt, with deep regret and grief, of the tragic news of the passing away of Al-Jazeera Channel’s Photography Division’s head, the late Ali Hassan Al-Jaber, as a result of the armed ambush on the news network’s team in Benghazi. Al-Jazeera’s team were fulfilling their journalistic duties of uncovering the truth and enlightening public opinion. ADF conveys the expression of its deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased and the entire Al-Jazeera channel crew, praying to God that He will grant the soul of the deceased solace and mercy, and to give his family patience and comfort.
ADF strongly deplores this cowardly assault and condemns all attacks targeting the media in a desperate attempt to obscure facts and restrict freedom. ADF once again asserts its unconditional support for the Libyan revolution, urging the international community to take more decisive and effective procedures to stop the use of violence and put an end to crimes committed against unarmed civilians in Libya.
