Second Coordination and Preparatory Plenary Session for Civil parallel Constituent Assembly
The second coordination and preparatory Plenary Session was attended by a considerable media presence during which the project for a virtual Civil parallel Constituent Assembly was presented. This project will be implemented through a partnership between the coalition of the Tunisian civil society organizations and the ‘Karari international association.
The project for a virtual social networking program was designed in a way that allows for the largest number possible of citizens to participate in the drafting of the new Tunisian constitution by the National Constituent Assembly. The project will also enable active youth on the internet and social networks to deliver their impressions and suggestions to the members of the National Constituent Assembly.
The Project is an opportunity for civil society to fully exercise its democratic rights, which includes doing what it can to exchange experiences, skills, and political and legislative knowledge through direct interaction between citizens interested in public affairs. The ‘Karari’ project achieves active civic participation and develops political skills. In addition, the session included the presentation of a report about the work of the committees assigned to implement the project of the Civic Constituent Assembly, as well as the announcement of its first plenary meeting.
