Training Course on Transitional Justice Mechanisms for Lawyers

This training course, run by international trainer and expert, Mr. Chaouki Benyoub, focused on transferring international experiences to the Arab region in the fields of national reconciliation, transitional justice, and democratic transition to the Arab region. The course also sought to impart practical knowledge and develop skills in order to build local expertise in the areas of transitional justice.
Twenty-nine lawyers, nominated by the bar association, graduated from the training course including members of the Committee of Transitional Justice which works to support the direction of the bar and the National Commission for Lawyers. More than 80 candidates applied to participate in the course, only 29 of whom were accepted for pedagogical reasons. Those candidates who did not have the opportunity to partake requested that other courses be organized in the near future.
